Planning an Intervention for the Substance Abuser
![]()
A well-planned and successful intervention clears the addict’s eyes temporarily of fog of addiction, so they can see clearly the pain their disease has caused. In this beautiful moment surrounded by so much past chaos and pain, friends, family and coworkers can open up about how they feel towards the alcoholic or drug addict. In turn, the substance abuser gets to share how she feels about her disease, about how she wishes she could control it, that she doesn’t want to cause anyone pain and suffering, and so on.
