Interventions: a Useful Step in Drug Addiction Treatment

Just as a cancer patient needs a team of doctors and family members for support, so too does the drug addict need the support of family and friends to beat the disease of addiction. There’s a reason that more than 80% of interventions are successful in getting an addict into treatment. Few addicts spontaneously realize the severity of their disease; for most, it takes external circumstances to show them how sick they are. For this reason, an intervention is often the first step towards treatment for the alcoholic or addict.
