Addictions’s Solution: Drug Rehab and Recovery

Addictions’s Solution: Drug Rehab and Recovery

Once someone accepts that substance abuse is threatening one’s life or livelihood, they then have to accept treatment or continue to sink lower into their disease. Whereas insulin shots are the medicine commonly used for diabetics, drug rehab, treatment and other social and spiritual programs—like the well-known 12-step programs—are the medicine for the substance abuser. Without some program of recovery acting as the medicine for this disease, it will get worse and the addict will progressively loose control until their physical and mental health are beyond repair. The endpoint for untreated addiction includes severe depression, suicide, institutionalization and/or death.
