Alcohol abuse and alcoholism can be a serious problem in an individual’s life. Binge drinking can consume an addict’s life and cause them to loose their job, loose relationships with family or close friends. Not only that but excessive drinking can cause alcohol dementia, which makes the individual unable to form any new memories. If you believe a loved on suffers from alcoholism, there are centers with binge drinking treatment programs that can help.

This is an informative video, \"Alcohol Dementia\", because it discusses the seriousness of binge drinking. Going into a treatment center and talking to a specialist about your options can point the addict into the direction of recovery. Hopefully, by posting this video more people will understand the severity that binge drinking can have on their life. There are support groups where addicts can talk about their problems and meet other individual who are going through a similar situation. This may also help choosing a treatment center because it allows the patient to talk to other people and to hopefully gain insight into what types of programs work for what reasons.

For me, being a college freshman was amazing—meeting tons of new people, going to fun parties, going to classes seemed novel (for the first couple weeks of the semester), basically being free. After my parents got me settled in my dorm and we said our good-byes my Dad said to me, “don’t let school get in the way of your education.” I laughed and didn’t think much about that sentiment until the end of my sophomore year. It was probably some of the best advice he had ever given me. Part of the reason college is so fun is because you are able to explore the world on your own (but still under the umbrella of your parent’s support). Binge drinking became a huge factor in my life. Every weekend there was at least 1 person taken to the hospital to have their stomach pumped from drinking too much. Not only that, but as the years went by more and more people started using club drugs as well as binge drinking. These substances are super dangerous and if used to excess can even impact individual’s education by being a catalyst to their learning disability.

Currently, two years after graduating I still have close friends who binge drink regularly. Hanging out at friend’s apartments and they inevitably will make fun of me for not wanting to continue to loose in quarters. I respond, “I’m all ready drunk, I don’t need to play more”. They usually laugh and call me a post grad, because that would never be a reason for them to stop playing a drinking game. Binge drinking can lead to alcoholism, which can result in dementia. If you or a loved one suffers from binge drinking, talk to a specialist today about finding help.

What is dual diagnosis? The most common variation of a dual disorder is when someone suffers from co-existing disorders, such as substance abuse and an emotional condition. There are other forms of this disorder, such as having an eating disorder and depression or substance abuse. These may seem like a bleak diagnosis, but there you deserve the find the best treatment possible for your co-existing disorders.
There are many dual diagnosis centers accessible by individuals seeking help. The Internet is a great resource when looking up different treatment facilities and reading reviews. Treatment inevitably may be a hard road, but with a good support system and a well thought out treatment plan you too can conquer your co existing conditions. Dual diagnosis is hard because specialist have to factor in and work with many aspects of their patients’ lives. Their patient may have suffered from a mental health condition that’s been ignored long enough for it to snowball into substance abuse. If these conditions are not treated side by side, a patient’s success rate drops quickly. This is because once the patient goes through treatment of cocaine, for example, the individual can then experience stress do to their emotional disorder and find themselves falling into bad habits. There are treatment centers in California that can allow individuals to go through supervised withdrawal period. This is important to treating an addiction to hard drugs such as cocaine because a doctor is able to prescribe medication that can help through the physical pain.

“The more difficulties one has to encounter, within and without, the more significant and the higher in inspiration his life will be.” Horace Bushnell

When someone receives a dual diagnosis it usually means they suffer from a mental condition as well as a substance abuse problem. Having a dual disorder will affect the patient for the rest of their lives, hence the reason it’s so important to find the best treatment plan for their specific needs. After receiving this diagnosis the individual should do research about specific dual diagnosis treatment program in hopes of finding one that will work best for their individual needs. It may be hard for patients to do this kind of research, if this is the case, find a dual diagnosis centers and ask them to give your information about treatment programs in your area. Patients should know that the road to recovery will be long and hard, but it is well worth the energy. Treating a dual disorder can be difficult because there are two separate conditions that need to be addressed. By ignoring one of the conditions, it can leave patients vulnerable. It is possible to live a happy, functional life; you just have to give yourself that second chance.

A dual disorder is when someone suffers from an emotional condition as well as a substance abuse problem, such as an addiction to cocaine. It is very common for addicts to also suffer from emotional conditions. Their emotional state may have been a large reason of their substance abuse. Because they center their lives around cocaine use, it is necessary to relearn coping and life skills that will allow individuals to not use drugs as a crutch. Often times when individuals receive dual diagnosis treatments they feel alone. But its important to remember that there are many people who are working to help them overcome their diagnosis. Integrating the patient’s treatment for cocaine addiction and emotional condition, will hopefully give the patient the strength necessary to live a sober life. Not only that, but they will be able to relearn necessary coping skills.
Treatment for a dual disorder can be hard road and finding dual diagnosis programs that best suite an individuals needs is fundamental to their recovery. Dual diagnosis treatment centers vary. It is important to find treatment centers in California that will give the patient the specific care they need. Not only that, but they should to trust their doctors to get the most out of their program.

“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.” Henry David Thoreau

California dual diagnosis center’s range in program types—it is smart to do research about which type of facility will most benefit each patient’s needs. Dual diagnosis clinics provide support to an individual’s eating disorder as well as discussing emotional stress that can accompany these types of conditions. Some eating disorders that can be treated are binge eating, bulimia and anorexia. In the United States, the disorder that affects the largest number of people is binge eating disorder, which can be defined as someone who eats unusually large amounts of food as a means of coping with stress. Often times individuals with this disorder are unaware of the emotions associated with their overeating. It is important to always have hope—living a healthy, functional life is always an option.
Individuals are also able to find dual diagnosis centers located around the state. Facilities such as these focus on the treatment of dual diagnosis. When a patient is determined to have a dual disorder, they suffer from substance abuse issues as well as an emotional disorder. It is important to treat both conditions at the same time because one could be the cause of the other. Only treating one condition doesn’t allow the patient to fully recover. Also, it can cause the patient to start using substances again, as a result of stress from their emotional condition. Fighting a dual diagnosis will take a lifetime, but by doing so the patient’s quality of life improves drastically.

When an individual receives a dual diagnosis they have a substance abuse problem and an emotional disorder. Patients go through a period of detoxification before treating their emotional condition, because that way they can address their emotional problems with a clear mind. It is important to treat both conditions at the same time because one usually is the cause of the other. Also, because most psychological conditions will impact an individual’s life forever, their substance abuse problem may always be looming on the horizon. Individuals can go through stress, stemming from their mental condition, which can throw them back into their bad habits of addiction.
It is important to do research about dual diagnosis treatment facilities and find specialists you trust to help during this hard time. If the treatment is done correctly and specifically tailored to each individual, they are more likely to recover smoothly. Sometimes people who receive this diagnosis never had the opportunity to live a successful, functional life. There are people out there who want to help and re-teach patient’s life skills.
Patients check into a dual diagnosis treatment center that has the best treatment program for them. Then they can find a therapist and come up with a treatment plan that is tailored for them to and overcome their emotional disorder. It is important for some to be able to continue working while treating their emotional issues and addiction because they have no money to support their treatment plan. This is a hard and painful time, but is necessary in the treatment of a dual diagnosis. There are many dual diagnosis clinics available where patients can check in. Individuals should find the program that is best for their needs.

When an individual is diagnosed with a dual disorder, it is not the end of the world. Yes, it is not an easy diagnosis to hear, but luckily, there are many drug rehab dual diagnosis that can help people through these hard times. The Internet is a great resource when looking up different treatment facilities and reading reviews. Finding a treatment plan that the patient feels comfortable with is ultimately the largest factor of finding a facility. The center will then hopefully re-teach patients how to cope with stress as well as other important life skills they may have forgotten.
Intervention AE

Intervention AE is a reality television show that accurately displays the negative implications associated with compulsive behavior, and some ways to deal with individuals displaying symptoms of said behavior. Compulsive behaviors such as drug addiction, alcoholism, gambling addiction, Internet addiction, etc., are all examples of behavior that may require professional intervening. Every episode of Intervention follows a new individual and highlights the challenges and obstacles he or she faces everyday because of his or her behavior. The show also highlights family and friends of the individual and the ways in which their behavior has affected those around him or her.

Intervention Services in The Intervention TV Show

The intervention TV show illustrates various intervention services and how best to use them. One of two professional interventionists will assist the family in developing a plan of action. They will be present at the intervention and will facilitate the process. The goal is that the combination of structured guidance from the professional, combined with the support and encouragement from the family and friends who are present will lead to a direct admission into treatment.

Alcohol and Drug Intervention

Implementing a proper alcohol and drug intervention can be extremely difficult. For family members and friends of an individual suffering from alcoholism and/or drug addiction, the entire process can be extremely emotionally tolling. To some, the act of intervening feels comparable to an act of betrayal. However, in the long run you are doing them a favor by helping them confront their negative behavior, and pushing them to do something about it. It is important for them to feel supported and encouraged. The likelihood of them making a full recovery is greatly increased if they want to get help, and it is easier to want to get help when you have a good support system and lots of encouragement.

Observing the act of sober living can be extremely challenging for certain people. While to many people, a sober lifestyle is not difficult to comprehend, to others, it can be the most testing experience of their life.
Alcohol Drug Treatment

Inpatient alcohol drug treatment is an intense and comprehensive form of rehabilitation that addresses alcoholism and drug addiction. Individuals who choose to enlist will work one-on-one with a counselor, and will participate in group therapy. Other activities to build emotional and physical strength are often offered, such as sports, horseback riding, yoga, etc. The amount of time an individual must spend in alcohol drug treatment is indefinite, and completely depends on his or her dedication and strength.
Sober Living Homes

Once an individual has completed or “graduated” from an inpatient alcohol and drug treatment program, they have the option to be discharged and may return home. Many do return, and are successful. Others relapse. For those individuals who are not confident in their abilities to maintain their newfound sobriety, there is a transitional setting that they can take advantage of. Sober living homes are a stepping-stone between inpatient rehab and home. A sober living home provides an individual with a calm and relaxed environment where he or she can practice their skills and test their strength. The atmosphere is less intensive and demanding than a residential treatment center, which gives the individual a better sense of how strong they will be once they do go home. If an individual needs some extra time to build his or her strength but wants to do so in a setting more comparable to home and reality, he or she has the option of residing in a sober living home for an imprecise period of time.
